The Central Government has notified the appointment of Advocate Javed Iqbal Wani as a Judge of Common High Court for the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union territory of Ladakh.
The same is pursuant to the recommendation made by the Supreme Court Collegium in January this year.
The J&K High Court Collegium had recommended elevation of Wani in March last year. However, he was not elevated after the Central Government made objections in its IB Report.
